Airservices has announced the appointment of Ms Mairi Barton as Executive General Manager, Corporate and Industry Affairs.

An Airservices statement says Ms Barton has more than 20 years of communications and public affairs experience which spans state and federal government as well as the agricultural and financial services sectors, with her most recent position being as strategic media relations adviser to the Victorian Government education portfolios.

“I’m pleased to welcome Mairi to Airservices, with her considerable experience in communications and public affairs and look forward to her contributing to our vision to connect the Australian aviation industry,” Airservices CEO, Margaret Staib said. “Her appointment brings the number of women in my executive team to three, reinforcing Airservices commitment to diversity in our workforce.”

Airservices says Ms Barton’s role has a strong stakeholder engagement focus, including enhancing relationships with airlines, airports, government and international air navigation service providers in addition to media relations and staff communications.
