Etihad Airways has announced it will operate three Abu Dhabi-Bangkok-Sydney return services to help clear the passenger backlog on the route resulting from the Qantas dispute, if government regulatory approval is granted. The airline said the services will operate on November 1, 2 and 3.
Announcing the additional services before Qantas announced its return to service, Etihad CEO James Hogan said airline was looking to help people at both ends of their journey between Bangkok and Sydney. “We have also been in contact with travel management companies and tour operators in Australia, Europe and the UK, who are looking for seats to get their customers home to Australia, and we are doing everything possible to help them by offering capacity at competitive fares.
