written by australianaviation.com.au | September 12, 2011
Andrew Davis has been appointed Tiger Airways Australia CEO.

Former chief operating officer of Virgin Blue, Andrew David, has been appointed chief executive officer of Tiger Airways Australia, with effect from October 17.

David was COO at Virgin Blue between February 2005 and November 2010, and was at one point considered a contender to be appointed CEO of the airline following Brett Godfrey’s retirement, before the appointment of John Borghetti. Prior to joining Virgin Blue, David worked at Air New Zealand, where his roles included GM Pacific airline (in charge of domestic and Pacific island 737 and A320 operations), VP group strategy and planning, chief information officer, and operations business performance manager.

“We are pleased to welcome Andrew David as the new CEO of Tiger Airways Australia,” Tiger Airways holdings CEO Chin Yau Seng said. “He brings a wealth of airline business experience and a proven leadership track record.”

David’s appointment to Tiger Australia follows the announcement that current CEO Tony Davis is to leave the airline on November 1. Davis, who was previously CEO of Tiger Airways Holdings, was appointed to the role in early July following Tiger Australia’s grounding.
