Virgin Australia will codeshare on Virgin Atlantic’s Sydney-Hong Kong services from early 2012.
Under the agreement, Virgin Australia’s long haul carrier V Australia will codeshare on Virgin Atlantic’s daily, Airbus A340-600 operated Sydney-Hong Kong service (but not Virgin Atlantic’s onward Hong Kong-London services), with eligible Virgin Australia passengers to receive frequent flyer program benefits and lounge access, including to Virgin Atlantic’s Hong Kong Clubhouse.

“This agreement compliments our existing global alliance strategy, providing a new codeshare destination for our guests and further strengthening our new frequent flyer program launched today”, Virgin Australia CEO John Borghetti said.
“Hong Kong is a very important market for Australia given it is an international business hub, a popular leisure destination and has a large Australian expatriate community.”
Virgin Atlantic services to Hong Kong depart from Sydney International Airport at 2.25pm each day.
