Interest in London travel up – BA

written by australianaviation.com.au | November 26, 2009

British Airways has reported that it has seen a 14 per cent increase in online travel enquiries from Africa, Asia and the Middle East due to the lower value of the British Pound.

Sam Heine, British Airways regional commercial manager for Australia, said, “Over the summer, we saw an average of 30,000 visits a week to ba.com, our flight and hotel booking website which is a healthy increase over last year.”

BA says that on a typical itinerary for a trip to London, two adults visiting the city can now expect to save more than $298 on a trip to London compared with a similar itinerary in the lead up to Christmas last year. Further falls in the Pound are expected to lead to more savings and interest in travel to London.
